The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh
Can’t help but wonder if this image had been shown on a blog by an unknown Dutch artist named Vincent van Gogh living in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence France just after he finished it in June 1889, if anyone would have noticed or cared.
Amazing what 123 years can do!

i read, as it is known, that Van Gogh had to give away a painting as no one cared for what he was doing. Doubt if hardly anyone would have noticed this painting you posted then..It takes a long time for great creations to be appreciated. RLTE
rlte that is so true. Starry Night would have been regarded as crazy art at that time and little wonder that such a magnificent man and artist should take his own life. We are so fortunate to enjoy the legacy of this great man…Vincent! thanks, robert
