Magic is everywhere in the world…….even when you least expect it.
I did not expect to find ……… Title : The Magic Mountain
But what amazed me most was the Classical / Turner-like landscape at the rear of the picture and the distinctive contrast with the stark, reductive foreground.

A new artwork where I discovered……….. Title : Vincent’s Unknown Wife
Mixed medium on A2 paper.
As an artist I have always been very close to Vincent, his art and his life. So imagine how shocked I was when this artwork emerged.
So I decided to follow it up. Everybody knowns so much about Vincent’s life but nobody knows about his secret wife.
I certainly do not, his very close brother Theo did not……….no mention anywhere. He did have a close relationship with a prostitute but I think I may have the answer.
Vincent fell deeply in love with his first cousin Kee Vos at one time in his short life. But for someone to even think about marriage to their own cousin in 19th century Holland was unthinkable so they pretended she rejected him and they married secretly without anybody knowing.
Also I found this article by Bonnie Butterfield about Vincent’s life which is most helpful

New mixed medium drawing on paper………… Title : Drenched In Time
This is a mysterious drawing which reminds me of a famous photograph taken inside New York’s fabulous Grand Central Railway Station.
It has shafts of light streaming in through the giant windows.

Title : The New Is About To Be Created
Not far away a brand new shopping center is about to be born.
But first the old one needs to be pulled apart to build the new one.
As artists we “know” often you must pull apart to create.

New mixed media drawing …………..Titled : The Approaching Storm
As I have often stated I love J M W Turner and here is my more modern interpretation of one of his main themes.
It is the expression of pure…intense emotion, an abstract “feeling” of a storm.
A storm is an often an atmospheric explosion of energy……
mine a more psychic ……emotional…… EXPLOSION!

The famous Sugar Bowl Cloud Watchers of Nerang have been quiet of late.
So I was surprised recently when I saw them with some friends.
And they put on a very impressive show for them too.
By the end of the day they were all tired out……
but said…. “it was a day they will never forget.”

A new poem……..Clear Blue Sky
The resonance of the future
bellows in the past
A time forgotten by all…… but me
Like liquid gold it slips through your fingers
awaiting form
Beneath cloudy skies I look up
and am molested
Then I remember….
Beyond the clouds always lie….
clear blue sky.
