must agree they are strange Terry……I was perplexed one day when it looked at one of my paintings for about 10 minutes. The painting was large and leaning against the fence to dry. It kept tilting its head and looked very studious. They all amaze me.
Me too. We had a pair move into our area about two years ago. Unfortunately their favourite patch of ground was a traffic island on the edge of a busy highway. The male has tried twice to raise a family but his wife or his children get taken out by either traffic of cats. The local us included] try to keep a watch out but they insist on staying on the ground and walking into traffic……. it’s a bit heart wrenching.
possibly the dumbest bird on the planet? who walks out into traffic on a major highway when they could fly?

Understand the heart wrenching nature of getting attached to wild life……but we still do!
