This was my original post back on July 20, 2012. It touched me deeply and has led to many special moments with ducks and birds generally.
The Duck Family One
A little while ago I often visited a beautiful nearby park for peace and solace….. and to visit some friendly ducks. One day the two ducks became ELEVEN! They made quite a spectacle marching along together.
Over time we got close to each other. In fact very close.

I was overwhelmed when they allowed me to get so close to them and their chicks. This was a memorable time in my life sharing such intimate time with totally wild ducks. It wasn’t just the bread. After feeding they often sat close to me for ages and went to sleep. Magic moments!
