Landscapes can appear before us in so many forms. From dramatic sunsets or spectacular mountain ranges to simple running streams or a grassy knoll.

This one beckoned me to pay attention to it because it does not fit within those usual categories and offers so much beauty within its complex but simply form.

This is another image from my recently featured Patrick Heron book. A fabulous portrait of Sir Herbert Read (art historian and educator) in 1950.

It shows classic Cubism with frontal and profile views of this amazing man.

Patrick went on to fully explore Abstraction in his later life.

Finally after many years of being locked in boxes in a New York storage unit I have been reunited with some of my favorite books collected there over many years.

This Patrick Heron Phaidon published book was first out of a box and one of my favorites. It shows the creative brilliance and joy of his work and should be an inspiration to any aspiring artist.

The second image is the final in this book and is titled….

Coastal Light, Floral Brilliance painted in 1994.
