This is part of a new drawing in paint and charcoal. Drawing to me has always been fundamental to art. I love the skill of classical drawing although I have departed from its restraints and formal arrangements. These days I just love to let my art take me where it wants to go without any forethought or planning which were requirements of the classics. Even now I pause to reflect on my next move. Everything comes from within not without.

This is a new painting, untitled at this time. It clearly shows my strongest ongoing passion as an artist over decades. Deconstruction has been a major part of this. When Brian Kennedy, then Director of the Australian National Gallery in Canberra Australia visited the New York studio where I was working and saw my art he described it as totally unique and original. He saw the embryo of where my work has developed. While most artists want to capture or express what they see or feel I have rarely wanted to do that. My goal has been to allow my art to guide me and find new and better ways to express itself in infinite forms. This new painting is one such discovery.

I found this small A4 painting on paper recently amongst my many larger works. I had dismissed it because it was an experiment with different techniques etc. Upon viewing it again I was pleasantly surprised.

How We See The World
There are many reasons I love ART.
One is it teaches us to really see the world around us.
Another is it teaches us to see the world in a new way.
And when we change how we see things…. they change!

Touched By Picasso
This is a new charcoal drawing on A2 paper.
It might be more accurate to say it was inspired by Picasso. Picasso often created by reinterpreting Old Masters, learning from them, delving into their mysteries.
With this drawing I have simply allowed one of his works to reinvent itself through me.

The Rhythm of the Moving Life
This is a new charcoal drawing on paper which evolved from a Picasso Still Life.
The Rhythm of the Moving Life
In the beginning was the word
And the word was Picasso
And from Picasso came Still Life
Then Still Life gave life to Living Life
From which evolved Pollock
And Pollock became rhythm and danced across the floor
Finally becoming the Rhythm of the Moving Life

A Spiritual Evolution of Things
This is a new charcoal drawing on paper which describes a process of evolution.
The Tree
In the beginning was the word
And the word was tree
And the tree became house
Which became many houses
And they became road
Which branched out like a tree.
And finally the word became congestion
So the inhabitants of the houses searched for the simplicity of the tree!
