A Portrait – This image raises more questions than answers….. Could it be the idea of the sitter? Could it be so abstracted that only a symbol of the sitter remains after they have gone? …. a cap maybe? Could a portrait be anything without visual likeness? What about spirit? Can you capture that?
Full of mystery and emotion it is for you to decide.

Another P H P

This is another image from my recently featured Patrick Heron book. A fabulous portrait of Sir Herbert Read (art historian and educator) in 1950.

It shows classic Cubism with frontal and profile views of this amazing man.

Patrick went on to fully explore Abstraction in his later life.

A conversation with Bill is a treasured experience. He is a real Australian and his family have been a major part of this areas development.

So I was not surprised when I saw Bill this morning and he said ABC (Gold Coast) contacted him recently for a local news segment.
