La Fornarina after Raphael ……A New Drawing Posted by burgessart on December 7, 2012 Posted in: Art / Arts, Art Collectors / Lovers / Patrons, Art Galleries, Artist's studios, Artists, Arts, Beauty, Blog, Blogging, Creativity, Drawing, Raphael, Vision, Ways of Seeing. Tagged: arts, burgess, charcoal drawing, painting. 13 Comments La Fornarina after Raphael Another new charcoal drawing taken from Master works from the past. I am really surprised with this one. It reminds me of certain Picasso works. Raphael was an Italian High Renaissance master and has always been someone I admire particularly his School of Athens. My drawing comes from La Fornarina which is also known as Portrait of a Young Woman and was painted between 1518 and 1520. Here is the Wikipedia link to see the original painting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_fornarina The woman is identified as the fornarina (bakeress) Margherita Luti, Raphael’s Roman mistress. A Little Bit of Magic Posted by burgessart on November 15, 2012 Posted in: Art / Arts, Art Galleries, Artist's studios, Artists, Arts, Blog, Blogging, Creativity, Magic, Mystery, Painting, Raphael, Views, Vision, Ways of Seeing. Tagged: arts, burgess, Harry Potter, paintings, transfiguration by raphael. 10 Comments Transfiguration Here is a new acrylic painting of mine titled Transfiguration on a 30 x 40 inch canvas. This was inspired by a Raphael painting of the same name….. his last painting. The Transfiguration by Raphael I also like the Harry Potter reference to Transfiguration. “Transfiguration is a branch of magic that focuses on the alteration of the form or appearance of an object.” This has a close association to my painting too. I think we all need a little bit of magic in our lives. What do you think? Copyright Burgess 2012 (c) All rights reserved. Share this:TwitterFacebookPinterestLinkedInLike this:Like Loading...
