I wrote the following poem as a direct response to seeing how young people are behaving badly after much drinking late at night.
Blue skies delight but not at night
For they take flight
before midnight
The way is clear
except with much beer
for then the fog descends
Obscuring reason and lighting up stupidity
But like all things
the day begins
anew.
Feelings are clear
without much beer
and light the day and night
for all is good
without
the…. could
the… should, the ….would,
and fogs appear only at our choosing.

Following yesterday’s post I put together a short movie highlighting “Pronking”.
Pronking is the jumping movement made by the Springbok Antilopes of South Africa.
I decided to do a little extra “pronking” myself with the movie.

The Birthday Party
Recently the Sugar Bowl Cloud Watchers had their two friends around to celebrate a Birthday Party.
All were in party makeup and disguise and I never found out whose birthday party it was.
I managed somehow to get them to turn around for this group portrait to remember the event.
It was difficult especially with the outstanding cloud formation behind them.
But they all agreed…….it was the best Birthday Party ever!

A View Of The Coast
Another View Of The Coast
As a creative artist you always need to be ready to be inspired “by the moment.”
Here was a case in point.
My intention was a great photograph of the coast.
But when I arrived I had a David and Goliath moment which altered my perception and final images dramatically.
A guy was taking photos of the coast with the largest Canon camera I have seen outside those used at major tennis tournaments.
He proudly showed me the power of his BIG zoom and how it could show a person waving on one of the buildings…..amazing.
He had to rest the camera on a large fence post to steady it. I was impressed but the result was very predictable and seen many times before.
So I was really challenged with my very little point and shoot Sony.

THE HISTORY
A big confession………since a little boy my number one indulgence has been an apple turnover.
Others may turn to alcohol, drugs, smokes, gambling or whatever……we all have a weakness.
Over the years I learnt all about food’s nutritional value etc. and decided to still allow myself an occasional special treat.
TODAY
This morning on my early ride I found I had $3.00 in my pocket.
As I rode I wondered how I might best spend this amount.
Suddenly my favorite food came to mind but it costs $3,20…….20 cents short.
Then my mind started working and I devised a plan to get my fav food for $3.00
THE PLAN
Approach the lovely girl and suggest I buy the WGAT for $3.00
and give the business .20 cents free advertising on my world blog site.
The plan came unstuck when I suggested I pay $3.00 to the beautiful Claudia……… and she agreed.
I then went on to tell her of my plan anyway and she agreed to have a couple of photos taken.
THE WORLD’S GREATEST APPLE TURNOVER (TWGAT)
Packed with fresh-baked apples, topped with fluffy fresh cream, in a light crusty butter pastry dusted like the first fall of winter snow.
New York might have Gray’s Papaya but Nerang has TWGAT.

A Sugar Bowl Astronaut?
The Sugar Bowl Cloud Watchers were at it again recently and they got me thinking…..
One thing for sure in this world is we are all different…..
with different dreams, different things that make us happy.
Imagine a world where we all wanted to be the same…… Astronauts, Artists, Accountants or whatever.
The world would never function.
So,………..just maybe….it has been designed to be perfect just as it is.
Just a thought…..
