I have always loved panoramas. Maybe I have been subconsciously influenced by David Hockney’s stunning photographs which I also love.
If you take a closer look you will see differences in the second image.
Title : A Little Grandness

I was deeply moved when I saw this shattered bike lying in a field.
I easily imagined the joy it had brought to someone in the past.
Now it lay like a slain animal awaiting the vultures of time to fully destroy it.
Title : A Final Resting Place
Footnote : As I prepared this post the image of J.M.W. Turner’s The Fighting Temeraire came to mind. While I make no claim to begin to approach this Masters work his painting is full of Grandness mine is one of simplicity, the ordinary, the everyday. However I feel there is a common link in our intention…..that which has served humanity is now being cast aside.

On a recent morning bike ride I saw this unusual sight…………The Pelican Who Could Stand On Water
Everybody who passed had a similar reaction. But the pelican “stood” his ground…….as little as he had and did not move.
Could this be a lesson for today…..
If you see an opportunity ……no matter how small……take it.

When I first went to New York back in the 80’s nobody in Australia celebrated Halloween…….in fact most did not know what it was.
How that has changed.
Halloween this year had a different meaning when I was greeted by this beautiful supermarket check-out girl with devil horns and angel wings.
But on viewing the photo (which she gladly poses for) I realised that I was not the only one who received a big surprise.

If you remember back sometime ago we had two little house guests. Here is the post
Two Little Visitors
https://burgessart.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/two-little-visitors
Well, they are still here and as you can see…..very at home.
They say….. be careful who you let stay in your home……. they might never go.
Still who’s complaining!

New Ink Drawing titled “So What Makes You Think This is Art?”
This is often asked about Modern Art.
It does not concern me what it is called.
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”
Prov. The nature of a thing is more important than what it is called. (From Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet.)
It is how it makes you feel.…. or think that matters.
What I see is limitless…….. mystery……..magic…….the unknown.
What I see is Life!
