But what amazed me most was the Classical / Turner-like landscape at the rear of the picture and the distinctive contrast with the stark, reductive foreground.

Sorry, this is getting out of hand.

Looks like someone will pay anything……. to live forever!

Maybe a rare limited-edition print at $1,000? ……not perpetual but…… long-lasting youth.

It is how it makes you feel.…. or think that matters.

What I see is limitless…….. mystery……..magic…….the unknown.

“Do We Know You?”…. and What is Realism?

“Do We Know You?”

Immediately after finishing this new ink drawing I was asked…… “Do We Know You?” I was so shocked! Nobody in any of my artworks has ever spoken to me….even when they were much more realistic works.

Suddenly I wondered…. is realism nothing to do with making things “look” real?

It was going to be another in my new series….Memories of When I Could Draw……. but these two people were determined to be made real. So I had no choice.

They will probably ask you….”Do We Know You?”

If you tell them….yes. Then they will be happy.

If you tell them the truth…..you could be in for a long discussion.

My big problem is …… I don’t know who they are…

This magical image has appeared in book form to end the series just before the end of year.

Sometimes images appear from nowhere. This is one.

It began with a new gouache painting……..

then morphed into………this image.

It is even in book form.

No it is not published, and in fact it is the only image in this book.

But who knows what can happen in the future.

I was driving at night recently and saw these homes completely decked out with Christmas lights. All four homes were close to each other.

To me light has always been magical especially colored lights in the dark.

Also, we all need some light in our lives after recent events.

So…let there be light….to lighten up the darkness.

On this magical journey we come to “Desire” the place within us where all magic begins. Where the formless takes form and begins to grow.

On day one we began to “feel” the magic.

Day two to “see” the vision of possibilities of this magic.

Today on day three we begin to “take action” by planting the seeds of magic………..our desires.

As an old song says……………..if you don’t have a dream, How you gonna have a dream come true?

The Bridge

The Bridge

Like many photographers images just hit you in the eye. Also as mentioned in my previous blog magic is all around us so I am always looking for it. Suddenly this chair said I am not a chair…I am a bridge. What could I do except say……..yes you are and a very good bridge indeed. So plain and simple just like the image.

However I must add that it was not quite as simple as it looks. Once I saw the bridge I had to find it in the camera. Now that took some doing.
