Last post I showed some unexpected art.
Today……….The Unexpected Viewer (Of Art)
This was quite amazing.
I had put an artwork in progress out to dry. A little later along came the Plover I featured recently in a post (there are actually two but only one is an art lover).
After some food the nearby drying painting was observed. Let’s call her she (but he might be he)
She walked immediately towards it and stopped. Her head turned a little then she moved forward. All the while watching it intently. This continued for what seemed like 5 or 10 minutes but I was so amazed and taking photos I lost all notion of time.
This beautiful creature was curiously examining this painting in a way I have only seen people…… study a masterpiece.
Finally they flew off and I was left……. stunned and amazed!

Magic is everywhere in the world…….even when you least expect it.
I did not expect to find ……… Title : The Magic Mountain
But what amazed me most was the Classical / Turner-like landscape at the rear of the picture and the distinctive contrast with the stark, reductive foreground.

I was experimenting with some of my paintings recently and look what emerged…..
Could this be the “perfect” Expressionists Painter’s Room?
Paint, paint, paint!….
Painters love paint.
I think Vincent Van Gogh would have approved.
Hard to live in…….yes.
But a Painter’s Dream………….paint everywhere!

Here is another new charcoal drawing inspired by an old masters painting “Innocence Prefers Love to Wealth” by Pierre-Paul Prud’hon
(April 4, 1758 – February 16, 1823) was a French Romantic painter best known for his allegorical paintings and portraits.
I have retitled my drawing to simply “Innocence.”
The original title raises issues about how we see love and wealth……. particularly in today’s world where many people are focused on money.
What do you think….?
Below is a picture of the original painting.

Here is a new acrylic painting of mine titled Transfiguration on a 30 x 40 inch canvas.
This was inspired by a Raphael painting of the same name….. his last painting.
I also like the Harry Potter reference to Transfiguration.
“Transfiguration is a branch of magic that focuses on the alteration of the form or appearance of an object.”
This has a close association to my painting too.
I think we all need a little bit of magic in our lives.

Two new painting placed in a book. The Book of B.
Somehow these paintings look great in a book form. This book does not exist at this time.
It is a mock-up… an idea. The paintings are real.
You might well ask …. what is The Book of B?
Good question. I have to decide on that too.
It sounds mystical, ancient and weird. That interests me.
Something might be developing here. Or it might remain just another post. We’ll see.
Any thoughts?

The above is a painting which I have been working for some time. You might see 29 DECEMBRE in it. This came from a Picasso Still Life.
Today I’m giving you a rare insight into my studio to see one of my paintings in progress. I have been working on it for a year or two.
The silence which I featured recently went through stages such as this before it was finished.
It reveals my love of colour and energy but as artists will understand ….. there is so much going it is hard to resolve.
There have been times when I simplified things such as A New York Show
Not at present….. now the struggle goes on.
