I began to wonder why I like this photograph and I think it is the juxtaposition of this man-made structure against nature that I find interesting. It is the long, straight and hard-edged sitting in an undulating, rounded and randomly placed tree surrounding……..with the vastness of the sky overpowering all.
Or maybe it is our subconscious mind reminding us of childhood memories of slippery dips and playgrounds…… or even present day yearnings for distant places.
How does it make you feel?

It almost seems like a ancient Roman construction, with it’s symmetry and function. A little day-dream and history caught with an image. … great picture ….
Thanks Thomas…..now see it in another way…..good observation.
Hey … What can I say, I am a dreamer. Art is supposed to transport us, move us to “THAT” place …. A unique place for each of us …
So true….. I’m sure your food can take us to that place too.
Nice shot. As they say, there’s no straight lines in nature.
Thanks Hansi……..your right.
Nice one! It’s cutting through the terra firma like a score on a coconut sprinkled chocolate cake…
Wow…….. that is great metaphor…….thanks
Has a surreal and hallucinatory feel for me – like the waterway has been superimposed – fascinating image…
John….guess that feeling comes from the fact that the waterway was only recently build and has not settled into the landscape…..I feel the same way.
