Another new charcoal drawing taken from Master works from the past. I am really surprised with this one. It reminds me of certain Picasso works.
Raphael was an Italian High Renaissance master and has always been someone I admire particularly his School of Athens.
My drawing comes from La Fornarina which is also known as Portrait of a Young Woman and was painted between 1518 and 1520.
Here is the Wikipedia link to see the original painting.

The woman is identified as the fornarina (bakeress) Margherita Luti, Raphael’s Roman mistress.

Yes, i thought picasso too.. 🙂 BUT i like this one!!!
Thank you Linda. I love Picasso but have never drawn anything like him in the past. So I don’t know where this one came from. Best wishes, Robert
Now, that is one great drawing. I love the modern look of the drawing. Wow. Rlte
Silvia it “felt” good. Right away I thought this one is good. As always…best wishes, Robert
I love your line: bold, sensual, sure.
Thanks Chris, One of those where everything just seemed to fall into place…..without any effort. I call that “magic.” All the best, Robert
It is magic when it happens – good one Robert. Reminds me of Henry Moore as much as Picasso…
Thanks John, I have always been a great fan of Henry Moore. His monumental sculptures and those fabulous drawings…especially the tube tunnel war drawings.
LOVE IT!
Thanks Kara………..Love to NYC!
Reblogged this on i cittadini prima di tutto.
I had missed this…..
Magic!
