This is a painting on paper from my archives of 2020. It was inspired by Cezanne’s famous painting The Cardplayers. Looking at it now I wonder how I ever did it.

A Time for Seeing
I love to play with images. As you move them, change colours, emphasize parts etc wonderful things happen.
This one plays with moving perspectives which draws us to focus on parts we have not noticed.
When artist Cezanne began changing his viewpoint Art changed. So I am forever aware that changing our view of the world can have profound implications.
Changing our viewpoint of anything changes what we see.

Bucket In The Studio
This is an original photograph focusing on how we see.
I want to share what is before me but also go way beyond that. As I look I also see what is before me.
I don’t want to go around objects like the Cubists or change my viewpoint like Cezanne. I want to share what is there but in a way that is REAL.
You will get it or you won’t.

Transcendant Vision
Originally I called it Beyond Cubism but changed the title as I thought it might be a too bold. My reasoning was Cubism was about the object and seeing around it etc….. mine is seeing through space!
